Building the next generation of visitor management

Written by Chris Burton | October 21, 2025

The workplace experience should be safe, seamless, and welcoming from the moment someone walks through the door.

Following our acquisition of SwipedOn in 2024, we’re ready to share what’s next for Sign In App. When two leading platforms come together, the opportunity to build something greater becomes clear. We’ve combined the best of both to deliver our most ambitious transformation yet - an upgraded experience shaped by your most requested features, without losing what you love about Sign In App.

Behind the scenes: a year in the making

Our product and development teams have spent much of 2025 rethinking and rebuilding the platform from the inside out. After years of rapid growth, it was time to modernize, streamline, and make the tools you rely on more powerful and accessible.

Even as we rebuilt the core, we kept shipping new features = from Meetings integration and criminal record checks to our new registration portal launching soon.

Collaboration with the SwipedOn team has been key. With development happening around the clock, progress never stops. Their deep expertise in UX and interface design has influenced every part of what we’re building.

By combining technology and insight from both teams, we’ve accelerated innovation that would have taken years independently - creating something that feels familiar yet opens new possibilities.

The transformation journey

Unlike our previous major updates, this isn't a single release. Instead, it's a carefully planned transformation journey that will unfold throughout 2025 and 2026. Some updates are already live, others arrive early next year, with more rolling out as we shape the future of visitor management.

We understand that change requires careful management. You won't find the product completely changing under your feet. We’re evolving Sign In App, not replacing it - enhancing what works, fixing long-standing gaps, and building momentum toward greater control, flexibility, and ease.

What's coming: four key areas

Portal 2.0: a fresh new experience

Our online portal has been reimagined from the ground up to make it simpler, smarter, and more familiar for everyone. Portal 2.0 incorporates the best of Sign In App and SwipedOn into one seamless interface. Beyond a visual refresh, it delivers:

  • Unified activity view combining Today and history in one customizable dashboard.
  • New People directory for managing visitors, contractors, employees, and students in one place.
  • Simplified settings with clearer labels and smarter navigation.
  • Fully responsive design that works seamlessly on any device.

Enhanced device experience

We’re modernizing what we now call the kiosk experience - a more inclusive name that reflects our support for multiple devices, not just iPads:

  • Android version of the iPad app arriving early next year.
  • Simplified on-device settings and expanded portal controls make management faster and easier across sites.

Easier multi-site management

For organizations managing multiple locations:

  • Field and message libraries – update once, apply everywhere.
  • Site Collections (Coming in 2026) – group sites by region or unit for shared settings and reporting

Smarter visitor experiences

A smoother, more intelligent experience for everyone who checks in:

  • Linked visitor history across all sites.
  • Multi-day access with one QR code.
  • Host approval on arrival for added control.
  • Expanded notifications and booking insights for better visibility.

Already available

Several upgrades are already available in your portal:

  • Real-time device configuration updates
  • Multi-day pre-registrations for repeat visitors
  • Host push notifications for instant alerts
  • Editable visit records for quick corrections
  • Data anonymization for privacy compliance
  • Self-service billing with full invoice history

Getting early access

We'll be making these changes available to beta testers early in 2026, with rollouts continuing throughout the year. For the opportunity to get early access to new features, please register for our beta program at beta@signinapp.com or speak to your account manager.

The road ahead

Continuous evolution is in our DNA. If you’ve been with Sign In App for a while, you know the pace - new improvements, month after month. This transformation continues that momentum, combining operational control with exceptional experience so your organization stays protected while every visitor feels welcome.

It’s an exciting moment for the Sign In App community. We’re deep into this next chapter and can’t wait to show you what’s ahead as we redefine visitor management for the modern workplace.
