There are some settings that we recommend configuring slightly differently if you're using Sign In App in the education sector.
The default behaviour in Sign In App is that staff and students need to sign in first, and they can then sign out. However, for most schools, only students arriving late will sign in; if a student arrived on time (and didn't sign in), they wouldn't be able to sign out. Sign out first mode provides a solution for this. With Wonde integrated groups, sign out first mode means students can sign in or out as the first action, allowing students arriving late to sign in and those leaving early to sign out.
To get this set up go to Manage > Groups > Students > Sign out options
and toggle Sign out first
ON.
Using Sign In App host notifications, a visitor can select their host as part of the sign in process. When the sign in is complete, that person is sent a notification - the list of hosts is called the notify list. It makes sense that your students aren't included on this list. When we set up your Wonde integration, we will configure the group so the students aren't included in the notify list, but it's crucial not to toggle this back on.
You can check this setting by going to Manage > Groups > Students > Data & Privacy
and ensuring that Include group on notify list
under the Visibility section is toggled OFF.
Sign In App Tap allows you to use existing door access cards to sign in/out. The default behaviour is that the first tap will sign you in, and the second will sign you out. With sign out first mode enabled, this is reversed. Students may not entirely suit both of these options, particularly Sixth form students who may be signing in or out as the first action. In this scenario, we can enable an option so when an RFID card or fob is scanned Sign In App will display the Sign in and Out buttons on screen, and the person signing in can select the correct option.
