Top tips: shared evacuation reports
Streamlining health and safety processes has always been at the heart of new feature releases in Sign In App, and we have always held the belief that in the event of an emergency, an accurate evacuation list can save lives. That’s why we introduced shared evacuation reports to our Safety+ group of features.
Since the very first version of Sign In App, our community has been able to access a real-time evacuation list any time they needed it. Before Safety+, previously only one appointed team member could complete a roll call with Companion app. Shared evacuation reports allow multiple colleagues to work together and complete roll calls at the same time; all updates are shared instantly so comments can be added and replied to in real-time.
How do you complete an emergency evacuation with shared reports?
To start a shared evacuation report:
- Head to Companion app on your iOS or Android device
- Tap on the evacuation symbol at the bottom of the screen
- Tap “Start an evacuation” (ensure you have selected the correct site)
- Use the toggle to set the filter for the report to group or evac point and tap on the relevant one
- Tap the tick or cross to mark evacuees as present or missing (a progress circle with a percentage will be shown at the bottom of the screen)
To join a shared evacuation report:
- Head to Companion app on your iOS or Android device
- Tap on the evacuation symbol at the bottom of the screen
- Join the shared report
- Tap the tick or cross to mark evacuees as present or missing (all actions will be shared across other devices that have joined)
Ending and leaving a report:
- Tap “Finish report”
- Tap “Close the report for all” or “Leave report”
- If the evacuation is complete, tapping “Close the report for all” will end the report for all participants; this cannot be undone.
- If the evacuation is still in progress but you no longer need to make any actions in the report, tapping “Leave report” will only remove your device; you can rejoin after doing this if necessary.
