After using an inhouse developed solution, the team at Kingspan were looking for a solution that was simple-to-use and always updated with new features for both visitor and staff sign in, and that’s where Sign In App comes into play.
We caught up with John Gaskell, Director of IT at Kingspan, to see how they’ve been getting on since implementing Sign In App.
Why did you look for a visitor management system?
Previous to installing Sign In App we used an in house developed solution. The solution was very good, however, like most inhouse developments, it starts to become a struggle for support as previous developers leave the business. The inhouse solution was also a challenge to keep the staff database up to date. You also lose out on embracing new features quicker with an inhouse developed solution.
Why did you choose Sign In App?
We looked at a few solutions and felt that Sign In App had the KISS feel about it. We also found it very welcoming to be able to carry out a trial of the solution which included setting up the link to our Active Directory to validate one of our biggest support issues we had with our previous in house solution.
Cost-wise we felt the solution is good value for money.
It’s also great that the solution can be run on standard iPads, as well as the user being able to run the solution on iOS and Android smartphones.
What’s your experience been like with the Sign In App team?
The Sign In App team has been amazing with their responses to help us understand how to get the best out of the system. It is also warming to feel that the team are interested in our feedback and ideas. We feel very much that they are a business who want to listen to their customers and become the best at what they do. We don’t get on well with vendors with chips on their shoulders; Sign In App is not in that league!
Which features have you made particular use of?
Automatic sign in with staff using their smartphones has been a big plus, and linking to Active Directory has also been a massive positive.
The pre-registration option is good for a visitor to complete the form on their mobile phone. We also found asking questions to visitors re COVID-19 has been very useful.
The deliveries option is also useful to ensure staff are informed of parcels arriving for them to be collected.
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
The solution was very easy to implement across the various sites. Staff have been able to easily pick up how to use the solution. This again confirms the “keep it simple” design of the solution.
